I had a wonderful 10 km race today. Very sunny but cool in the shade. Very hot in the sun, in the middle of the race. I'm sure the temp is relative to the location, but today heralded Spring.
I finished the first five in 30, and the second in 33. I feel proud of my effort (particularly because I came back from vacation with a lot of "souvenirs". I'm glad I wore a running t without sleeves. And I wore 3/4 length tights. I saw a lot of people who were over dressed and peeling clothes off through out the race.
The race was on the road, sometimes asphalt but mostly brick. I saw st lest six people trip and go down hard during the race. It was very crowded. The throng spread out to the sidewalks and bike paths.
I had a lot of fun, and took 30 second walk breaks every 500 meters. I had a little trouble breathing at the end of the race. The last two km were tough. I want to figure out what I can do to increase my breathing capacity.
